There is Healing in Your Passions

Today I got a call from someone who I admire so much, Sonia (she is a life-coach and energy healer), telling me that I am like a colorful, beautiful bird waiting to get out of the cage and open her wings. And spread the message of love that I need to share! I want to scream that message!

I love personal development and I love digging deep into the wide spectrum of emotions that I feel on a day-to-day basis to learn the lessons that I need to learn. I want to scream the message of healing, elevating, and following your dreams!

Many of you do not know that music is my #1 passion and dream. I do not want to be like some famous pop singer or something. Music literally is my bones, I am music and music is me.

I desire everyone to know that passion that is innately and specifically developed within their soul and follow that passion with all their hearts. No more of this 9-5 crap that keeps us around people who hate their jobs and hate their lives; no more of this “Hey, how are you?” “I’m good, just busy” crap. I cannot even fathom to give or hear another fake response in this robot world we tend to get sucked into.

I am not here to be a robot, I am here as a spirit having a human experience. Therefore, I am going to follow my spirit and passion, which is music, and I am going to hold on so tight, until someone has to pry my dead hands off of my guitar.

I do not know how the Lord is going to use music within my life to serve others, but I do know that it is the universal language that heals so many souls, reminds us of amazing memories, and flows through our bodies like an energy wave.

The point of this blog is not to reveal my passion for music. It is to reveal the message that I am so passionate about! I want everyone to be so passionate about what they are doing. If we all did what we were actually called to do, imagine how much better and happier this world would be!

We could all spread true love through our passions and fulfill our purposes. We would all be fulfilled and grateful for our lives. We would not be living in a lie, and we could all actually come together as a community to have real talk.

Trust me, I understand your pain, I understand that you are hurting. But the question is do you understand it? Are you even aware that you have so much pain built up in you because you may not be in alignment with your true-self?

I know so much of my pain is because I have been following society. I have not been in true alignment with myself and my passions. I have been so afraid and fearful to share my amazing abilities and talents with the world because it is something that means so much to me. I am afraid of the amazing possibilities that could come if I become an excellent musician.

But I prayed this year for my New Year’s Resolution that the Lord would rid me of all my fears and insecurities. So here I am in guitar lessons, planning to do an open mic night, planning to use music to serve others. I envision myself using music to calm my patients when I become a therapist.

And now I will leave you with some of the activities I have done such as writing to the Holy Spirit and Journaling. These activities really helped me to dive deeper into the WHY (which is so important). These are things that I just don’t share anywhere else but on my blog. So here you go:

Writing to the Holy Spirit

Why have you created me to love music?

Music is your alignment. Music is how you manifest the love I have for you. It is how you will show others the love you have for them. It is how you will show others the humility you have, that you are just like them and do not have everything figured out. It is the lyrics that grow deep in your soul because all words were created by me and I use those words to speak to others. You and Jon Bellion are going to do a duet one day Erika. You are going to thrive more than you can even fathom to realize right now. Notice that everything (including desires has changed). But this one thing has remained constant and that is your love for music. It is your passion, it is the notes flowing through your bones that creates every single lyric you live by. It is the beats that control your every movements. It is you breath that will never die, it will always be fresh air. Everything you do with music is following the Holy Spirit because it is from your heart, it is something that I am the brains for, just like I told you I am the head of the church and you are just the servant strumming those strings in each and every way I tell you. You already know your calling Erika, you ALREADY KNOW IT!!! GO AFTER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more waiting, no more nonsense, do what you love and love what you do. Love is the factor that holds this whole earth together so why wouldn't you do what you love? There is a reason I am here in every part of every day loving you. I will always love you and you will always show you love to me through music. You will always have life and flow and energy through the beats of your soul. Dance to the beat of your own heart, and run free wild child.

Journaling

I put my headphones in to listen to the beats and rhythms of self-love and flow. It is like hooking your heart up to the oxygen tank. When you are hooked up, you are alive and your heart is beating, but when you pull the plug, your Spirit leaves your body. When my headphones are plugged in, it is like life is flowing through me with every beat, my Spirit is alive and present and flowing in my body like a light, then when I pull the plug, that light is dimmed. Music Love.

I want to give advice, no matter what form. I want to give advice through my voice. Through the sound of my guitar. I want to give advice through the haziness of the saxophone. I've been told I'm good at giving advice on multiple occasions. I want to help everyone in that way. I want to give them a listening ear and let them know I understand through my music and my words.

I want to bring all the racism of different kind of music away. I am a mixed race of many and I want to show that through my music. Love everyone. I love culture and languages and everything and I want to show that in my music. I love to travel and I want to write music from the heart based on every place that I go and based on all the people that I meet. I want to write songs with people that I meet. LOVE.
